Tuning Strategy

Start with the default value and adjust in small increments. Monitor vehicle behavior after each change before making further adjustments.

💡 Tuning Tips

⚠️ **CRITICAL SAFETY!** Too low = both IGBTs conduct = instant destruction.

VALUES → APPROXIMATE DEAD TIME:

  • 28 → 800ns (minimum for small fast modules)
  • 50 → 1.2µs (Prius Gen2)
  • 63 → 1.5µs (DEFAULT — safe for most)
  • 110 → 2.5µs (Infineon FS800)
  • 135 → 3.0µs (Ford Ranger)
  • 195 → 4.0µs (very conservative)

    • Always start conservative (100+) for unknown modules. Reduce only after testing at low power.
